CLASSIC MOTORBIKES FOR SALE

The Motorbikes For Sale Section of this website is split into a number of sections. Immediately below you will see links to pages giving an in-depth buyers guide to Classic Japanese Motorbikes from the 1970's through to modern day. There is a page dedicated to each of the four manufacturers (Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Honda). The first row of manufacturer logo's takes you to classic two-stroke motorbikes from that marque and the second row of logo's takes you to classic four-stroke motorbikes from that manufacturer. In each category, key models are introduced with a guide to the machine, its place in history, what they are like ride and run, what sort of prices to expect to pay and classic status. The guide to each model is then followed by listings of actual examples of that model for sale on Ebay in the UK today. All listings are up-to-date and real-time. If you are interested in one of the bikes for sale in these listings, click on the advert to see more information. You can then either contact the seller, place a bid to buy, click the "Buy it Now" option if available or close the window. Don't bid or "Buy it now" unless you are serious about buying the bike at the price you offer as bids are binding. This part of the site is new and not yet complete so not all the links work. Keep revisiting as links are activated, updated and added for a wider choice of makes and models.

Immaculate, Restored Suzuki X7 For Sale. 1979 Suzuki GT250 X7. Price £ 2100 or near offer.

Suzuki X7

1979 Suzuki GT250 X7 For Sale. Specification: Engine: 247cc Air-cooled 2-stroke parallel twin. Power: 29 bhp @ 8000 rpm. Torque: 18.9 lb-ft @ 7500 rpm. Dry Weight: 128 kg (282 lbs). Top Speed: 92 mph - 100 mph.

Summary: A1 Show-case condition, restored example of the iconic Suzuki X7. For sale. The owner is looking for offers in the region of £ 2100. Click on small pictures to enlarge.

This stunning Suzuki X7 is for sale. The only Suzuki X7's that I have seen in this good condition have been unused, stored examples that have never been run or used. The only time I have seen a 'fresh from them crate' example it was for sale for £ 3900. This motorbike has been fully restored by someone who knew what they were doing. At the risk of reeling off cliches, no expense has been spared and this bike is as good as new. I have not seen a better example and it makes my Suzuki X7 look like a dog.

This is a genuine and rare opportunity to buy one of the best examples of a Suzuki X7 in the UK, if not the world. If kept in this condition this motorbike will not depreciate and will only become a more rare and special example of the type. It is for sale at £ 2100. Anyone that has ever restored a motorbike will know that it is virtually impossible sell it on and make a profit. This means that if you want a classic motorbike in good or excellent condition the best and cheapest way of doing it is to buy one in that condition rather than do it yourself. In short, you could not restore an X7 to this standard for less than the asking price of £ 2100 so this is a rare opportunity to buy a motorbike like this. This motorbike is exceptional. It has no rust, every inch of it is clean and immaculate. The list of parts replaced alone far exceed the asking price.

If you are interested in buying this bike contact me using the "Contact" link in the menu on the left of this page. I will post more details shortly and have high resolution photographs that I can e-mail to you that allow you to see the exceptional condition of this machine. While the restored clocks show a mileage of 18,380 the bike has only done a few 100 miles since its comprehensive restoration which included and full engine rebuild. So the engine is as good as new and not even fully run-in yet. The registration year is "V", making it a 1979 model. This is the original version of the Suzuki X7 which differs slightly from the later version (like mine) in that it has round indicators (rather than rectangular), Separate Speedo, Tacho & Warning lights (rather than the single integral unit on the later model) and a round front brake master cylinder (compared to the rectangular one on the later model). All these parts are interchangeable between models. It has a professional paint re-spray in the original factory red colour scheme. The motorbike is located East of Nottingham, near Grantham so is pretty central in the UK.

1980 Suzuki GT250 X7 For Sale. Very Valuable Registration Number. For Sale at £ 750.

Specification: Engine: 247cc Air-cooled 2-stroke parallel twin. Power: 29 bhp @ 8000 rpm. Torque: 18.9 lb-ft @ 7500 rpm. Dry Weight: 128 kg (282 lbs). Top Speed: 92 mph - 100 mph.

This is a very interesting and quite special un-restored Suzuki X7 For Sale. The reason this Suzuki X7 is special and interesting is the very valuable and frankly brilliant registration number which as you can see in the photograph below is MAD 59V. This suits a motorbike, particularly a reckless 2-stroke, perfectly. Note that registration numbers can be transferred from one bike to another and also from a motorbike to a car. This registration is particularly valuable as it is a "suffix" registration with the key word "MAD" appearing at the beginning of the reg. Look at private registrations online and you will see similar registrations with MAD followed by two numbers and a letter from £ 2000 to over £10,000. With consideration for the value of the registration, this Suzuki X7 is for sale at an amazing price of £ 750.

Suzuki X7

While this is a great and genuine opportunity there are a couple of small (ish) catches: First, this motorbike is located in France (6 hours south of calais, in a village called Bazolles). The second is that having done a little research I believe that in order to transfer the registration from one vehicle to another, the donor vehicle must have an MOT and Tax (or have been MOT'd & Taxed in the last 6 months). This motorbike does not have an MOT or tax so the challenge / opportunity to the prospective owner of the bike and its registration is to pay a visit to France, perhaps use it as an excuse for a short holiday, pick up the motorbike, take it home, give it the minimum amount of work to get it through an MOT, then sell the registration for a good or possibly massive profit and still have a running Suzuki X7 on your hands that you can re-register on an age-related plate. Alternatively you could do the motorbike justice, restore it well, keep the registration and have perhaps the most valuable Suzuki X7 anywhere. Or a mix of the above two options.

The good news is that while this motorbike is tatty it is running. If your main interest is in the value of the registration number then this is good news as you could get the bike through an MOT on a pretty small budget. The indicators are broken but if removed it will pass an MOT. There are no rear footrests but again this will still pass MOT. While the critically important V5 documents are present the keys have been lost and although the ignition works it may be necessary to get a new ignition barrel an keys of Ebay to get through an MOT. The petrol tank has a split in the seam which could be repaired with epoxy glue (ideally plastic padding marine epoxy). The headlight glass is cracked so this would have to be replaced to pass the MOT. My estimate for the cost of getting this Suzuki X7 through a UK MOT at the least cost is less than £ 200. This is made up as follows: £ 50 on brake pads and seals, £ 50 on chain & sprockets £ 8 for fork seals. £ 50 for oils and lubricants.

This Suzuki X7 was registered in 1980, it has 24,400 miles on the clock. It is registered in the UK although it is currently in France about 6 hours south of Calais.
